Are these good reasons to break up with someone?
So I used to date this guy three years ago, we shared alot of memories and etc and things really seemed like they were going well. He did make alot of promises like I want to marry you someday and etc. But there were problems that rose up very suddenly with him. After 6 months, I noticed that he started acting differently. He wouldnt be as romantic and affectionate to me and he was flirting with other girls....right in front of me. Now normally I am more passive when I feel threatened like this and so I closed my emotions out as a way to try to protect myself, eventually I always was open to him again. I later found out that he told my friend that he was trying to make me jealous so I would fight for him. Confused, I tried to ask him about this. He later got mad at me and we broke up. For two years, he would play games with me. He would go off and date other girls, tell me he would come back, but the minute someone was affectionate to me; he would yell at me and try to get back together with me. He threatened suicide and blamed me for making him suicidal once when I went on a date with a different guy, at the time he had a girlfriend. He threatened other guys if they tried to go after me or even talk to me, claiming I was his. For me it was really painful because I did love him for who he was, yes sometimes I had a hard time trying to understand him and I felt really hurt by him but somehow no matter what I would forgive him and things would continue. Recently he started dating someone else again, someone he had cheated on me with, so I started to get frustrated and told him how this all made me feel. He seemed very insensitive to me but we still kept talking. He would reassure me that he loved me and that he would come back to be with me. But, that didnt happen. One day, he literally was joking around with me and we were having a normal conversation, and the next day He talks to me like hes mad at me and giving me the cold shoulder. I confronted him on this at least three times, on the third time I asked him if he was over me. He started to argue with me and after he calmed down he admitted it. But he also went into some detail as to why. He claimed that we were too different to try to be in a relationship with each other which I can understand, however, we were getting along just fine until he started being cold to me all of a sudden. He also said that he hated how I would ask what was on his mind and how I wouldnt start topics about myself and the fact that I am younger than him by a year.
I guess Im just hurt but is it really that bad to ask what a person is thinking?
And that I do not like always talking about myself 24/7 unless asked?
Or that Im a year younger than him?
I mean, if he had told me before that he didnt like it and asked me questions about myself I would have stopped asking and I also would have answered his questions. Obviously theres nothing I can do about my age haha. But I see how he treats his new girlfriend and it also makes me very envious because it was exactly how he used to treat me before except he is more open about his affections and always posts stuff on facebook, saying the things that he used to say to me. I asked my mom and counsellor, reading texts and emails from him (they were also his counsellor before) and they believe that he is a psychopath; someone who has no empathy and doesnt know how to show love and also is a master manipulator.
Look, I know that I also screwed up somewhere in this relationship but I really want to know if those are such bad flaws to have because for the most part, I actually am starting to get over him but I am having a hard time on figuring out if it truly was me who scared him off or if its something more personal with him.
Thanks everyone! =]
Answer: Listen to your mother and counselor. Run away from this guy and don't look back. He's a manipulator and he doesn't have your best interest at heart. Move on. Go with someone else. If he comes around with his jealous act, look him straight in the eye (with utter disgust) and tell him to take a hike! You may have to practice this in the mirror for awhile before you can be convincing. It won't be easy, but you'll be glad you did it, later.

Psychopathic...please help!!?
Currently - I am 16 years old and female, i hang out with all guys, and have had depression since i was 12. The "sadness" started in grade 3 when I moved from Montreal Quebec, Canada to a VERY small hamlet (13 people in the town) in Saskatchewan. I didnt speak English and had never lived on a true farm. Our family owned a really nice English horse training camp. I immediately was not welcomed at the small (200 kid school) because i didnt speak english, and was from Quebec. I have always been a stand alone/aggressive kind of person, but i only would lash out when the other kids were mean. I quickly learned was Retard, mental reject, and a few other "childish" names meant. I started rebelling at the other kids after 1-2 years. I ended up hanging out with the mentally handicapped kids most of the time. I saw 2 school counslers and was in therapy. In grade 8, when we started high school, things were ALOT better. I made friends with some of the other emo/gothic/outkast kids. I started smoking pot and colts (cigars). They were however, all older then me and graduated in grade 10. All of a sudden i was the creepy loner kid. I kept to myself not bothering anyone, and i would get drinks thrown at me but kids driving by. I got beat up. I was called names. I told the teacher and they just kept telling me i should try to fit in and stop being so anti social. When one of the kids hit me, i pounded the f**k outa him. (i fight like a guy) soon after fight after fight happened. I was so tired of all the humiliation and my mom, the school board, and the bus drivers did nothing. At this point i was on 2 anti depressants, a sleeping pill, a stomach pill (i was making myself puke, and the stress really made it worse). I was cutting and weighed in at 270 lbs. Yes, i turned to food. I used to be a healthy 120lbs for my body type/height. I dont eat breakfast and lunch, and eat a small supper. I live off almond milk, yogurt, and bread. I have acne. I have social anxiety. I Have OCD (pacing and fiddling). The doctors believe i have psychopathic tendency, because to me even family is just people, i dont develop bonds, dont think twice about hurting ANYONE.. I like seeing people hurt. I am violent, believe life is a game, and everyone in ur life is pieces in a puzzle, and are there for your gain. As well as a few other problems.
I need help. I dont know what to do.
Additional Details
The prototypical psychopath has deficits or deviance in several areas: interpersonal relationships, emotion, and behavior.[13] Psychopaths gain satisfaction through antisocial behavior, and do not experience shame, guilt, or remorse for their actions.[14][15][16] Psychopaths lack a sense of guilt or remorse for any harm they may have caused others, instead rationalizing the behavior, blaming someone else, or denying it outright.[17] [18] Psychopaths also lack empathy towards others in general, resulting in tactlessness, insensitivity, and contemptuousness. Psychopaths can have a superficial charm about them, enabled by a willingness to say anything to anyone without concern for accuracy or truth. Shallow affect also describes the psychopaths tendency for genuine emotion to be short-lived, glib and egocentric, with an overall cold demeanor. Their behavior is impulsive and irresponsible, often failing to keep a job.

Do psychopaths have an urge to kill much in the same way some people have a sex drive?
What I mean is, are they attracted to killing much in the same way people are attracted to looking at porn? Can they not help the way they feel? Im pretty sure Psychopaths are born with their disorder, and not made. Because I saw an interview with multiple psychopaths and some described that they get a high or thrill whenever they kill. Their were MRI brain scans in the psychopaths brain, which marked significant abnormalities. One described that killing a person for the first time gave him a high like smoking Marijuana, and he started killing in order to chase the high.
When psychopaths are young they probably usually realize that the things they think about, or are interested in, such as killing are wrong. When they first see someone or something get killed (i.e. a violent movie) they probably like it, wouldnt they? But they are told that killing is wrong and immoral, and that they are evil if they do it. So THEY believe they have to hide themselves and their fantasies from normal people. Until they become adults and cannot fight the urge they become serial killers and become addicted to killing. Does this make sense?
Some people that arent psychopaths can kill too if they are abused or raised to believe that most people are hostile. This doesnt make them true psychopaths though.
Answer: Some people kill for the feeling, some people kill for revenge, some people kill for money. There's endless amount of reasons... But I think I know what you mean. . .I think you got a pretty good sense of what you're talking about. In my opinion, yes, it's something they are born with... when they kill, they get like, a release of endorphines, like the feeling you get once you ejaculate.. Sorta...? I don't think they are bad people... they can't help how their brains were programmed... how they're chemical balance is balanced... Just misunderstood people....

Would you say she could be displaying signs of a Psychopath? Should I approach her about it?
A family member of mine has always been different but only ever acts normal in pubilc, everyone loves her when they meet her as she seems nice but in reality she has like three different personalities and as a very close member of her family I have had the chance to observe them all; Public, Family, Real. It was only after looking on various pages of Wikipedia that I noticed alot of traits she has:
The prototypical psychopath has deficits or deviances in several areas: interpersonal relationships, emotion, and self-control. Psychopaths gain satisfaction through antisocial behavior, and do not experience shame, guilt, or remorse for their actions.Psychopaths lack a sense of guilt or remorse for any harm they may have caused others, instead rationalizing the behavior, blaming someone else, or denying it outright.Psychopaths also lack empathy towards others in general, resulting in tactlessness, insensitivity, and contemptuousness. All of this belies their tendency to make a likable first impression; psychopaths have a superficial charm about them, enabled by a willingness to say anything without concern for accuracy or truth. Shallow affect also describes the psychopaths tendency for genuine emotion to be short-lived and egocentric, with an overall cold demeanor. Their behavior is impulsive and irresponsible, often failing to keep a job or defaulting on debts.Psychopaths also have a markedly distorted sense of the potential consequences of their actions, not only for others, but also for themselves. They do not deeply recognize the risk of being caught, disbelieved or injured as a result of their behaviour.
And manipulative techniques:
Lying: It is hard to tell if somebody is lying at the time they do it although often the truth may be apparent later when it is too late. One way to minimize the chances of being lied to is to understand that some personality types (particularly psychopaths) are experts at the art of lying and cheating, doing it frequently, and often in subtle ways.
Lying by omission: This is a very subtle form of lying by withholding a significant amount of the truth. This technique is also used in propaganda.
Denial: Manipulator refuses to admit that he or she has done something wrong.
Rationalization: An excuse made by the manipulator for inappropriate behavior. Rationalization is closely related to spin.
Minimization: This is a type of denial coupled with rationalization. The manipulator asserts that his or her behavior is not as harmful or irresponsible as someone else was suggesting, for example saying that a taunt or insult was only a joke.
Selective inattention or selective attention: Manipulator refuses to pay attention to anything that may distract from his or her agenda, saying things like "I dont want to hear it".
Diversion: Manipulator not giving a straight answer to a straight question and instead being diversionary, steering the conversation onto another topic.
Evasion: Similar to diversion but giving irrelevant, rambling, vague responses, weasel words.
Guilt tripping: A special kind of intimidation tactic. A manipulator suggests to the conscientious victim that he or she does not care enough, is too selfish or has it easy. This usually results in the victim feeling bad, keeping them in a self-doubting, anxious and submissive position.
Shaming: Manipulator uses sarcasm and put-downs to increase fear and self-doubt in the victim. Manipulators use this tactic to make others feel unworthy and therefore defer to them. Shaming tactics can be very subtle such as a fierce look or glance, unpleasant tone of voice, rhetorical comments, subtle sarcasm. Manipulators can make one feel ashamed for even daring to challenge them. It is an effective way to foster a sense of inadequacy in the victim.
Playing the victim role ("poor me"): Manipulator portrays him- or herself as a victim of circumstance or of someone elses behavior in order to gain pity, sympathy or evoke compassion and thereby get something from another. Caring and conscientious people cannot stand to see anyone suffering and the manipulator often finds it easy to play on sympathy to get cooperation.
Vilifying the victim: More than any other, this tactic is a powerful means of putting the victim on the defensive while simultaneously masking the aggressive intent of the manipulator.
Playing the servant role: Cloaking a self-serving agenda in guise of a service to a more noble cause, for example saying he is acting in a certain way for "obedience" and "service" to God or a similar authority figure.
Seduction: Manipulator uses charm, praise, flattery or overtly supporting others in order to get them to lower their defenses and give their trust and loyalty to him or her.
She subtily manipulates people and they never realise it when I question them later. She isnt dangerous unless provoked beyond verbal argument,is very imorral & says she would ki
Answer: You should ask another family member to convince her to see a specialist because to speculate about her condition is not a good thing.. she could simply know that by manipulating others she feels superior... she may just be a tyrant .. or have multiple personality disorder...
Manipulators can be psychopaths, but they don't have to be.. .if she gets away with manipulating other people and they are not aware of it or enable her to get away with that behaviour, then of course she will continue this... She could be talked into seeing a specialist. The whole family should discuss that.. and suggest it to her, depending on her age.. if she is under age, then the sooner she gets help, there is always hope she gets better or even gets diagnosed correctly and it might or might not be that she is a psychopath, because all the characteristics could easily apply to any kind of other disorder.. so she should definitely see a specialist, who is the only one who can diagnose her correctly and give her and you, the family, the optimum help...x
