Answer: While I am not an Obama supporter, I have seen this email on more than one occasion. The true facts are that most of these people are White House staffers, they work for the White House but not exclusively for Michelle Obama. As many as 20 of these staffers just happen to have First Lady within their title so there is a portion of their time that is used for some of Michelle's benefit, but they are not full time. Anyone that knows me, knows that I do not like Obama's policies, neither did I nor would I vote for him. My goal when answering is to give truthful answers, even if it pertains to a person that I do not support. I think that anyone that would be willing to research this (without using snopes.com) would find that this email that you have received is stretching the truth, it is true but it is not fully true since the implication is that these people serve Michell exclusively.

America must remain strong so future generations will have the strength to pay off this gigantic national debt. President Obama, what on earth happened to all your glowing promises for change?

Rod Blagojevich’s lawyers filed a redacted motion Thursday to subpoena President Obama to testify at Blago’s upcoming corruption trial in June. They apparently want the president himself to testify about whether he sent “emissaries” to Blago from the White House to inform him of the president’s preferences to fill his vacated Senate seat. ‘President Obama has direct knowledge to allegations made in the indictment. In addition, President Obama’s public statements contradict other witness statements, specifically those made by labor union official and Senate Candidate B [believed to be White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett],” the motion said. The former governor’s lawyers also claim that Tony Rezko admitted he violated federal election laws by personally contributing “a large sum of cash” to an unnamed public official believed to be Obama. Blago’s lawyers also accused Obama of not telling FBI agents the truth when he said Rezko never relayed a quid pro quo offer from a lobbyist who wanted to hold a fundraiser for Obama in exchange for favorable legislation, and again when he denied having any conversations with Rezko about a license for a casino linked to the Chicago mob. I always figured it since they were so close and Illinois especially Chicago politics has always been known for some shady business. Heres a capsule summary of the Sestak matter as presented by Dick Morris: Published on DickMorris.com on May 28, 2010 The New York Times revealed this afternoon that anonymous sources have informed it that Obamas chief of staff Rahm Emanuel asked former President Bill Clinton to offer Congressman Joe Sestak a high but unpaid advisory post in the Administration if he would drop out of the Senate race against Senator Arlen Specter. One post mentioned was service on the Presidents Intelligence Advisory Board. The idea was to immunize Obama and Rahm from possible criminal prosecution by using Clinton, not a government employee, as a cut out and to keep the offer to an unpaid job in hopes of not running afoul of the federal bribery statute. But these evasions will not blunt the force of the law. If Clinton acted at Emanuels request, he was Rahms agent and the Chief of Staff is still on the hook. And, an unpaid position is still "something of value" within the meaning of the bribery statute which prohibits the offering of something of value in return for a vote. And, remember why they wanted Sestak out of the race. The White House needed Specters vote to kill filibusters and could only get it if he would switch parties, a move he conditioned on getting Sestak to drop out and assure him a clear field for the nomination of his new party. So the bribe offer to Sestak was made by an agent of a government employee, it involved something of value, and it was to procure a vote in the Senate -- all the elements needed for a felony to have taken place. So, let us assume that evidence emerges or can be uncovered that shows beyond any doubt that Obama did know about this bribe -- to the same degree that Nixon knew about the plumbers adventures at the Watergate - would that make Obama complicit in the Felony of Political Bribery? Would Obama be a possible accessory before (or after) the fact (the actual offer)? Would that be a "high crime" within the meaning of the Constitution. Should there be a Congressional Subpoena to discover what Obama knew and when he knew it? (Like there was with Hillary and the Whitewater papers and travelgate papers?) Should the be an investigatory subcommittee to examine possible Articles of Impeachment like the Sam Irving investigation (assisted by Hillary Clinton)? Gone-Obama in 2013 is a fine thing, but wouldnt Gone-Obama in 2010 be even finer? Dont we want the finest country possible? "Rahm Emanuel, Obamas chief of staff, denied that the president has changed his tone toward the previous administration. He said Obama is "not trying to place blame, but he is trying to say clearly: Heres what weve got and heres our way out of it. Hes offered a positive alternative to their criticism." "The truth is that 98 percent of his speeches are about the future, and 2 percent are about inheritance," Emanuel said. "Whereas I think for Republicans its 2 percent about the future, and 98 percent hope that the people have amnesia." **************************************... My questions about the above statement are 1.) Considering the short time frame that Obama has been president , do you think that people are giving him a fair chance to turn things around? 2.) Do you think that Obama (or anyone else) knew how bad things were before he took office? 3.) Do you think the bush administration set Obama up for failure?
Answer: 1.) I don't believe that people are giving Obama a realistic time frame to fix the problems he claimed he would fix, nor the opportunity to really grasp the situation. One of the things the public is failing to realize is that Obama lost his "honeymoon period" 2 days after his inauguration. The man has had little time to formulate a comprehensive approach for the numerous fields he has to deal with. Yes, our economy is hurting, but I could name several foreign policy concerns that the Bush administration left unresolved, or at best poorly managed. Let's give Obama a chance to examine all the problems before accusing him of not fixing one. 2.) I think there are very few who still actually know how bad things are. The study of national security has so many components (agricultural, economic, military) that its really impossible for someone in four years to gain a full understanding of how complex the situation is, much less "solve" problems. Second, the media convinces the us, the public, that we have a strong understanding of what is happening abroad and at home, but the truth is people only started realizing how serious the economic problem is once we reached the lame-duck term of Bush's presidency. That's not even a year ago. Let's face it, even if we all tried to stay informed, we wouldn't come close to knowing the intricacies of how bad some of these things are. It seems safe to assume that Obama has many advisers who are well-versed in their fields and they still didn't see this coming. 3.) I wouldn't say he set them up for failure, at least not in the malicious sense. In terms of the reality of the situation, examining how Bush acted the later years of his terms? Absolutely. Bush's policies were consistent with the thoughts of a Neo-Con and not beneficial for either party, and when neither party's preferences are being met, you essentially alienated what is best for the two largest political groups in America.There is almost no justification for putting the public's best interest second to a partisan agenda. I believe that because Bush followed his own agenda (in favor of a Democratic agenda or Republican agenda, both of which would have been more beneficial to the people) Bush was showing a blatant disregard for whoever would inherit the office. I would go further to say he did this intentionally because it was so obvious that a Democrat would be elected next, but that would just start a fight ;)

James Carville, obeying his Obama marching orders, said pretty much the same thing in his CNN commentary headlined, "A history lesson for Rush Limbaugh," where Carville began by saying that Rush is the "moral and intellectual leader and most influential person in the Republican Party." As for ABCs George Stephanopoulos, he employed the same talking point about Rushs hope that Obamas socialist policies would not succeed -- though it is sure that Stephy didnt call Obamas policies socialist. In an interview with Eric Cantor, Stephanopoulos said, "So the Rush Limbaugh approach of wanting the president to fail is not the Eric Cantor, House Republican approach?" So, what we see here is the combined attack emanating out of the secret phone call strategy session pushing the themes that Rush is the "voice of the GOP" and that he wants Obama to be a failure -- both talking points that are not exactly in context with the facts. The strategy at work is that these three Democrat activists pretending at members of the media have concocted with the White House through Emanuel an effort to tar all Republicans with the Rush brush. Obama Reaches Out To Wall Street, Hedge Funders !!! Unbelievable.?

Facing a reelection campaign next year in a difficult economic environment, President Barack Obama is turning to a group that feels he has spurned it, and that has in turn spurned him: Wall Street. Many of the hedge fund managers and investment bankers who helped bankroll the presidents successful 2008 campaign are either sitting out this round so far or, worse for Obama, have switched sides, like one-time major Democratic donor Daniel Loeb of Third Point. But just weeks before he formally announces his reelection campaign, Obama is reaching out to hedge funds, private equity firms and Wall Street. In March, two dozen financiers, including Eton Park Capital Managements Eric Mindich, York Capital Managements James Dinan, Highbridge Capital Managements Glenn Dubin and Tudor Investment Groups Paul Tudor Jones, were at the White House, given more than an hour to air their grievances with the president over hedge fund regulation and other issues that have made them unhappy. Obama also personally called several people who were unable to attend the meeting, The New York Times reports. Jim Messina, the former White House deputy chief of staff now leading Obamas reelection effort, was in New York last month to meet with Obamas donors, including Marc Lasry, the Avenue Capital Partners chief who is close to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton. Obama himself will be in New York later this month to dine with bankers, hedge funders and private equity investors at the restaurant Daniel. Obamas team has also leaned on its loyal supporters, including Boston Provident Partners Orin Kramer, Mindich and Centerbridge Partners Mark Gallogly, to defend the president and push their colleagues to open their wallets. And it is focused on people at firms that traditionally give more to Republicans, including Cerberus Capital Managements Lenard Tessler and the Blackstone Groups Hamilton James. "Fundraising is certainly different than last time around in 07," UBS Group Americas CEO Robert Wolf told the Times.
