Will the backing of Tea Partier Republican Christine ODonnell work some magic for Mitt Romney campaign.?
She backed Romney and is going out of her way to tell other Tea Party folk that Gingrich is not their guy.
To be honest when I saw that interview and she said she was backing Romney I thought this CNN interview was a joke possibly staged by Newt Gingrich or another opponent to get Romney. Then I saw she was serious. She said Romney "has been consistent since he changed his mind". Since Romney has changed his mind on so many important issues I was not sure which one she was talking about. Maybe she meant since he last changed his mind?
Answer: LOL. No.

The Tea Party’s Not-So-Civil War
It’s a familiar narrative, one I heard frequently while writing about leftist ... Several of Bachmann’s backers soon issued a statement accusing Gingrich’s Tea Party supporters of having betrayed the cause. Activists quickly chose sides.
How can Gingrich preach about family values after having 3 wives and abandoning one of them?
Hes had 3 wives, left 2 of them.. He left one of them after she became ill with cancer, when she most needed him. He had an affair with Callisa Bisek while he holding an investigation of Clintons Monica Lewinsky (Hypocrite much?)...
So how is this guy lecturing everyone about family values? Isnt the Party he belongs to supposed to represent these values?
Answer: In this respect he is no worse than John Edwards, except he is running on the right where such issues are supposed to be of major concern. As a moderate-to-conservative independent who doesn't vote like some party drone, I am less concerned about his personal life than I am disturbed by his hypocrisy...the old "do as I say, not as I do" philosophy that so many politicians and activists seem to feel is their right.
For the larger picture, though, it's just plain stupid that the Republicans are looking to run someone like this who is "damaged goods." Although damaged himself, a win over Obama is NOT assured, and it looks like once again the Republicans are going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by running a candidate that Obama can obviously defeat. They did it in 2008 with John McCain and that idiot Sarah Palin, and more egregiously in 1996 when they ran that dinosaur Bob Dole against Bill Clinton. Even a conservative blowhard like Michael Savage has realized this, and is offering Gingrich $1,000,000 to abandon the race, since he can't win it.
"Those who don't understand history, repeat it's mistakes...."

Will the American press focus on the possibility of a Gingrich 3rd party run now? Splitting vote?
Ron Paul was asked a similar question about supporting Romney or Gingrich a few weeks ago. He didnt fully commit to supporting either one, so for the next week the American press wrote articles and opinion pieces on the possibility of a Paul 3rd party run and how it would affect the general election (split the vote for win for Obama).
So will the same treatment be given to Gingrich? I mean hes basically saying if he doesnt get the nomination he MIGHT be willing to vote for Obama? Either that, or he thinks HE is the only man for the job and will run 3rd party, right?
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/27/gingrich-wouldnt-vote-for-ron-paul/
Gingrich continued: "Hes got to come up with some very straight answers to get somebody to take him seriously. Would I be willing to listen to him? Sure. I think the choice of Ron Paul or Barack Obama would be a very bad choice for America."
When asked if he would be able to vote for Paul if his rival won the 2012 GOP nomination, Gingrich said unequivocally "No."
Answer: im so konfused im voting for NEWT

How do Republicans, who claim to live by ethics and family morals support someone like Gingrich, who has none?
He cheated on his first wife and married another. Then he cheated on her and divorced her while she was in the hospital with cancer and married his third wife.
And had the audacity, while he was cheating, to try and impeach Clinton.
The argument that Clinton was impeached because he lied under oath, in theory is true, but everyone knows The Republicans were making it about his infidelity, their perception of his lack of ethics and morals. The worst accusers were those Republicans having affairs of their own.
Gingrich lies through his teeth, sells himself to organizations as a consultant, or historian, which is also a bunch of bull and just continues to show the hypocrisy of the Republican party.
I have some family who are Republicans. They consider themselves fiscal conservatives, but are liberal in every other way they think. They think the right wing and tea party are a joke and say that is not who they are. When I ask them how the right wing has enslaved Republicans, they think its a joke and the right wing will disappear. I tell them theyre fooling themselves. Being family who love one another we agree to disagree, but what point have I made that they dont get?
Answer: You've overlooked the part where Gingrich is a Republican.
Even the fact that your family claims to be fiscal conservatives isn't borne out by fact, Republicans spent on the last two wars like drunks, and at the same time cut taxes, and then they put the war costs on an extra-budgetary status so it wouldn't show up on the 'official' budget.
Name me one thing that is fiscally sane, let alone conservative, about that?
So right off you have to know they aren't sophisticated, or informed enough to know what they are talking about, and ignorance is the hardest thing to change, so in the interests of family unity, just smile and ask them to pass the potatoes.
They want to fool themselves and they won't like being told they are wrong.

Hillary gives the GOP its best chance at being the party of change.?
Hillary gives the GOP its best chance at being the party of change.
The most interesting thing to come out of the umpteenth Republican debate Sunday is confirmation that the GOP is dying to run against Hillary Clinton. Like Don Rickles flaying a heckler, each candidate whacked at Clinton as if she were a pants-suited piñata. When they were done with their one-liners, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee deadpanned: “Look, I like to be funny. There’s nothing funny about Hillary Clinton being president.”
No, but there’s something deeply advantageous to having her as an opponent. So far, the commentary about the Republican offensive against Hillary has focused mostly on how it reflects poorly on the GOP (those Clinton-hating wing nuts are at it again!). What’s not been fully grasped is how Hillary gives the GOP its best chance at being the party of change.
Newt Gingrich, for one, has been pointing this out for months, using the May electoral triumph of Nicolas Sarkozy in France as an example. A cabinet minister for the unpopular Jacques Chirac, who’d served as president for a biblically long term of 12 years, Sarkozy ran against his own incumbent party’s complaisance as well as his Socialist opponent, Segolene Royal, arguing that she represented a return to a failed past and more of the same.
America isn’t France — obviously — but Democrats may be misreading America nonetheless. It seems incandescently clear that voters want a change, and up to now, change meant little more than Democratic victory and no more President Bush. But Democrats got a significant victory in 2006, when they took control of both houses of Congress. And now Congress is even less popular than Bush. In other words, the clamor for change in Washington is much bigger than Bush.
Besides, Bush is leaving no matter what. And unlike every other election since the 1920s, there’s no White House-approved candidate in the race. Any Republican will start with 40 percent to 45 percent of the vote in his pocket once he gets the nomination. The question is whether the critical 5 percent to 10 percent of swing voters will think Hillary Clinton represents the sort of change they want.
To wit: Most independents and swing voters want an end to the acrimony and bitterness in Washington — and a candidate they like. Whether that’s right or not is irrelevant. That’s what they want.
Which Democratic candidate would be most likely to give those voters what they want? Not Hillary, it’s safe to say.
Right now, she can get away with boasting about her tenure in the Clinton administration. Party activists are drunk with Clinton nostalgia. On the stump in Iowa, Bill Clinton responded to the claim that Hillary was “yesterday’s news” by saying, yeah, but “yesterday’s news was pretty good.”
In the general election, audiences will remember Whitewater, Travelgate, illegal fundraising, bimbo eruptions and impeachment. If they don’t, you can be sure Republicans will remind them. Fair or not, the Republicans’ intense dislike of Hillary will underscore the idea that a vote for her is a vote for more of the same rancor.
Hence the irony of the Clinton candidacy. Liberal activists keep saying that they want a candidate who is pure, speaks from the heart and refuses to “triangulate” on core principles the way Bill Clinton did. But Hillary Clinton is Clintonian in more than just name. On national security in particular, she has been alternating between reflexive anti-Bushism to bouts of outright hawkishness. Desperate to win, Democrats have been willing to overlook that — so far. But such shifting costs her credibility and passion.
It’s all deeply reminiscent of how John Kerry wound up as the nominee in 2004. Once Howard Dean, the conviction candidate, experienced the political equivalent of spontaneous human combustion, Democrats immediately cast about not for another principled politician but one they deemed electable. Bizarrely, they settled on the left-wing senator from Massachusetts who synthesized Ted Kennedy’s politics with Michael Dukakis’ charisma while bragging about his service in a war he built a career denouncing.
If Democrats could get out of their bubble, it might dawn on them that virtually all of their other candidates are better positioned to run as champions of change. Hillary Clinton has shrewdly tried to trim the differences between her and the competition by claiming that any of them would be better than George W. Bush. From a liberal perspective, that’s obviously true. But that perspective won’t necessarily dominate come next fall, particularly if conditions in Iraq continue to improve.
Is it really so obvious that, say, Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney represent “change” less than the ultimate Clinton retread, complete with Bill as “first gentleman”? That’s how Democrats are betting right now, and they may be bitterly disappointed — again — when it comes time to collect.

Who is the biggest embarrassment to the Republican Party?
I nominate these:
1. Lindsey Graham, Senator from South Carolina.
2. John McCain, Senator from Arizona.
3. Karl Rove, former Deputy Chief of staff for President Bush.
These are the "Go To Guys" for the main stream media whenever they want to make the Republican Party look like a bunch of idiots. Lindset Graham was on ABC News tonight, badmouthing Newt Gingrich.
So I ask, which one is the biggest embarrassment to the Republican Party? Or is it somebody else?

Does this help you to understand what is going on in Washington and Obamas agenda?
A summary of comments by Charles Krauthammer:
1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesnt show his emotions. Its very hard to know whats behind the mask. Taking down the Clinton dynasty from a political neophyte was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time.
2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has a way of making you think hes on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES!
3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including dismantling capitalism. He cant be straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada.
4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, & NATIONAL HEALTH CARE by the Federal government. He doesnt care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his health care program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada. God forbid.
5. Hes surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has ever even run a candy store. But theyre going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously cant work in the long run. Obamas not a socialist; rather hes a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he does, not what he says.
6. Obama doesnt really see himself as President of the United States, but more as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America, as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. is This the first President ever who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies!
7. Hes now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after hes reelected in 2012. Hed like to blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego, and Mr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist.
8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Were pining for another Reagan, but therell never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if shes to be a serious candidate in the future. We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense, and states rights.
9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. Were spending trillions that we dont have. This could lead to hyper inflation, depression or worse. No country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didnt work, nor will the stimulus package. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obamas allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above.
10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was.
11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If its under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If its between 8-10%, itll be a dogfight. Itll all be about the economy.
Answer: BS !
Obama is the best President to come a long in a long time!

Why are people predicting gridlock with a now Divided Government?
Divided government is not such a bad thing! It restores the Checks and Balances mentioned in the Constitution. A President has to reach out to the opposition Congress and vice versa.
Some of the best Presidents lived with a Congress in the opposition; think of Reagan, Truman. Its forced Presidents to reach across party lines to pass legislation; again, think of Reagan & Tip ONeil or Clinton & New Gingrich.
As for one party controlling everything, well......Just look at George W. and Jimmy Carter.
Answer: We are just hoping there is gridlock, slows down the spending on pork barrel projects!

What does the Republican party stand for?
As anyone can tell the current Republican movement lives largely on hypocrisy and a lack of practical ideas. It turns out the party that was hijacked by Newt Gingrich and people like him really runs on smoke and mirrors.
The current Republicans cannot face the obvious proof of what their so-called ideas have wrought on the American people. Faced with the incontrovertible evidence that one of their own destroyed the country they answer defensively, “Bush wasn’t a conservative, we need to get back to Reagan.” They conveniently forget that Reagan was under the huge cloud of Iran/Contra and sunk the country into economic decline while rewarding the rich during his tenure. Sounds vaguely familiar. What do Republicans stand for? You’re seeing the results right now.
Answer: Reagan wasn't a true Conservative either, though he clearly was a straighter-arrow than Bush. Conservatism, the system on which the Republican Party was founded, hasn't seen the light of day in the past 50 years. This fact is made even more unfortunate when one realizes that the principles on which Conservatism was founded are the same principles held by our Founding Fathers. Among these are a limited Federal government, states' rights, low taxes and unhampered personal liberties. The sad reality is that today, neither mainstream party puts such ideas to use beyond their campaign speeches.

Liberals, do you think this makes conservatives completely upset?
Wiener was temporary relief from REALITY. The GOP and right-wing candidates are just killing their chances to beat Obama in 2012. I don’t care for Donald Trump, but he is right to say it seems like the GOP has a death wish REGARDING BOTH THE ACTIONS AND THE TIMING of what they are doing and saying. Looking at events with the right, to see what I mean:
Miscellaneous things first:
Paul Ryan – This kicked it off. His “plan” to kill Medicare was a shot of adrenalin into the veins of the Democratic party. Was just incredibly bad timing for the GOP to do this 18 months before a presidential election!!
Rep. Rob Woodall – arguing with an elderly female constituent who has paid into Medicare for many years. She says: "The private corporation that I retired from does not give medical benefits to retirees," the woman told the congressman, who replied: Hear yourself, maam. Hear yourself," Woodall told the woman. "You want the government to take care of you, because your employer decided not to take care of you. My question is, When do I decide Im going to take care of me?” Woodall, when asked why he accepts government provided health care when he can afford to pay for it, his reply was, “Cause it’s free, lady. It’s free!” And these people want to be reelected!?
Mitch McConnell – Made a massively and outrageously stupid and arrogant comment, saying "Our number 1 priority politically is to make sure Obama is a one-term president." Not jobs, not the economy, not the well-being of the country, but working against Obama to get him out and a republican in. Just not very bright.
John Boehner – “Cry baby” handle, but more importantly, seen as someone who is carrying out McConnell’s proclaimed GOP party agenda to not work with Obama but to fight him so that he’ll be a one-term president.
And now the 2012 candidates:
Santorum – Says Ryan plan did not go far enough!!! That Social Security should be included. Donald Trump says you can’t expect to get elected “messing with Medicare.” And this guy wants to kill Social Security too? BAD MESSAGE for the GOP! Unelectable.
Gingrich – went against party on Ryan plan creating huge opening for Dems. Then later going on TV to say, “I’m sorry. I misspoke. And if you see Dem ads showing a tape of what I said, it’s a lie!” How dumb is that!? Then there’s the Tiffany’s account. REALLY unelectable!
Pawlenty – now viewed as a wimp, passing up a chance to say to Romney’s face what he said in the media, linking Mitt to Obamacare, calling it “ObamneyCare”. Made it worse later going on Hannity to say, “I messed up. I shoulda got on Gov. Romney.” Was already too little …… not too late! Unelectable
Cain – Discriminated against Muslims, saying they’d have to take a “loyalty test” to prove loyalty to the constitution to be in is cabinet. Never was electable.
Romney – flip flopper. Insensitive, saying, “I’m unemployed too!” to Tampa unemployed then laughing, when he is personally worth 200 million dollars. Not smart! Front runner but not at all exciting to anyone on either side. That’s why GOP still is begging others to get in the race.
Paul – just not attractive from image standpoint and not smart about what he says, which is sometimes just strange. Not electable.
Bachmann – did well in debate to stay within a script. However, too much emphasis on religion and being guided by God, saying she is pro-life for ANY reason. So, women who are pregnant as a result of rape or incest are forced to carry and deliver that baby? And if the mother’s life is in danger, she just has to die so the baby lives? Don’t know of any woman who would support that. I’m a man, and I would not support government – guided by God – telling a woman what to do with HER body! Not electable anyway. Never was. Just a distraction.
Those the GOP is begging to get in the race:
Christie – using the state helicopter to attend is son’s game. Yesterday, telling a state resident, “It’s non of your business” when she asked why he’s firing teachers and taking funds from education, lowering the quality of public schools, then sending his kids to private schools. Sent same message Ryan and his plan sent to the middle class: “We do not care about you!” Really hurts the GOP!
Perry – implying he’s a “Prophet”, but dealing with a 27 billion dollar state budget deficit. Wants to kill Medicare, and seems to be a Bush clone. Not electable.
Your thoughts?
Answer: That's why Obama doesn't have to worry about 2012. As much as the economy is not doing well, GOP presidential field is so lame that Obama will win easily

Todd Palin endorses Gingrich - Tea Party -- One Lump or Two?

Why r Tea Party commentators like Beck Hannity Rush, and the politicians they endorse Cheney, Gingrich, Palin?
Are Tea Party commentators like Beck, Hannity, Rush, and the politicians they endorse Cheney, Gingrich, Palin?
Why are they all pro-war, pro-Iraq war, and scared of Sharia Law, if they arent part of the "establishment" GOP?
Its like, Ron Paul is their only leader that opposed the neocon GOP establishment and Bush and the Dems too when he made big spending bills to fund the Iraqi war. Hes the only one who parted ways with McCain, Bush, and the GOPs desire for more wars and theyd call you an anti-Semite if you didnt agree, while they questioned the patriotism of and attacked PROTESTERS against Bush.
Remember when dissent was UNpatriotic?
An "anti-establishment" Tea Party wouldnt care about defense bills with Russia, nor would they care about a Mosque in NYC. They wouldnt champion Dick Cheney or John Bolton for their neocon-ness. If theyre sick of the same old same old, they would REFUDIATE what Bush was for.
Answer: I'm wondering why they claim peace groups are terrorists & why, if they preach all liberals are atheists they can also say liberals want Sharia law.
