Finally republicans are coming to their senses. Agree?
The House plans on voting on Speaker John Boehners debt limit plan this evening, but with its demise imminent in the Senate, some Senate Republicans are considering getting behind Senate Majority Leader Harry Reids alternative plan.
"I voted for cut, cap, and balance," Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts said today, in reference to the House Republicans initial debt limit plan. "Ill vote for Boehner, and Ill vote for Reid. Ive already said that. We need to move our country forward. Its time."
Senate Democrats have promised to reject Boehners plan, which would only extend the nations borrowing authority for another six months. Democrats say it would be unwise to re-create the debate over the debt ceiling and deficit reduction again, just before Christmas.
Reids plan would extend borrowing authority at least through 2012. Like Boehners plan, it calls for significant spending cuts and doesnt make any tax increases. Both plans call for a bipartisan commission to come up with longer-term deficit and debt reduction plans.
Brown said his staff is working with Reids staff to give the proposed commission more teeth, CBS News Capitol Hill Producer John Nolen reports.

Reid plans to move his bill to the Senate floor tonight, after action on Boehners bill is completed.
Coming out of a Republican conference meeting this afternoon, GOP Sen. John Thune also suggested Reids bill could be modified to win some Republican support.
"I think there are some things that could be done to his bill to make it better, to make it more attractive to Republicans, and if we ever get to that point maybe well get the chance to do that," he said.
Like Brown, Thune said that the ideas put forward by the proposed bipartisan deficit reduction committee should be binding and enforceable. Thune also reiterated the GOP complaint that Reids plan relies on some accounting gimmicks, such as counting money saved from winding down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as deficit reduction. He said that most Republicans want the spending cuts to match or exceed the amount that the debt ceiling is raised, and Reids plan doesnt accomplish that yet.
In spite of the GOP concerns, Thune said Democrats and Republicans should be able to work together.
"You dont want things to drag on forever," he said. "Most of us believe you just cant kick this can down the road."
Answer: The Central Government, run by bureaucratic servants called Democrats and Republicans, know that there is a 11% approval rate of the government by the US citizens. This is unacceptable to the Dems and Reps. They need away to show there power. So creating a fear atmosphere, will get the citizens attention. This will also let them portray the illusion they are doing something for the citizens that cannot be done without the government. I't is a forced recognition of power in all its tyranny.
One of the rules of war when facing a stronger enemy is to divide and conquer, rather then to attack your enemies force as a whole. Knowing that citizens and there constitutional freedoms/rights are a thee governments greatest enemy, creating a diversionary tactic such as Republican and Democrat would divide the governments enemies "citizens + constitutional freedoms/rights" Once divided, the enemy is far easier to conquer. In this case, when we are divided, the Central Government can take away freedoms/rights, and implement tyrannous laws a lot easier than if we were united.
Vote for ANYONE else besides Democrats or Republicans. I't can be anyone ranging from a third party candidate to Mickey Mouse. Just don't vote for Democrats or Republicans. They were bought and paid for a long time ago by bureaucrats. When Dems or Reps are elected, they serve the interests of the corporations that paid for them to get elected, not the citizens. Just remember. The Tea Party is the Republican Party. Category: Politics

If the GOP is rally against abortion, why dont they introduce bills to do away with it?
Is it because it is just for the vote. If they did away with it, they would have no more "ONE ISSUE" voters. who would poor people vote for then, would they vote for tax cuts on the rich, and increase on the poor. larger government, or that "Conservative" BS they always preach.
Under Bush and a Republican Congress we had an explosion of growth on all fronts: spending that put Lyndon Johnson to shame, huge deficits and a doubling of the national debt, corporate bailouts, further centralization of education, protectionism, expansion of Medicare, increased regulation, undeclared wars, civil-liberties violations and other unchecked executive power, and more. Bush did not veto a single spending bill in eight years. His cutting of tax rates in 2001 and 2003 has to be judged in the context of growing spending. Milton Friedman pointed out that the level of spending, not taxation, is the truer gauge of the government burden. The money has to come from somewhere. Removing it from the economy through borrowing is as economically damaging as taxation — more so when you figure that the government will perpetrate inflation to manage the debt.
That was bad enough, but the Republicans added rank hypocrisy to the mix by claiming to favor free markets.
In light of this, Boehner’s remark is more than a little absurd. It’s dishonest, even demagogic.
And it will have consequences beyond the moment. Advocates of government control of the economy have a stake in persuading the public that the current financial turmoil is mostly the result of the Bush administration’s alleged laissez-faire approach to governing. This is an outrageous lie. There was no laissez faire — quite the contrary. The Federal Register, which catalogues new regulations, grew apace in the Bush years. The last banking deregulation of any significance — repeal of the New Deal’s separation of investment and commercial banking — was signed by Clinton while Larry Summers was Treasury secretary. Summers today is Obama’s top economic advisor.
Boehner’s statement, however, sounds as though he accepts the charge that our troubles come from too little government, not too much, in the Bush years. As a result, his words have the effect of making free-market, small-government rhetoric sound incredible, even ridiculous. Anyone who believes Boehner’s (false) story would have to reject his opposition to Obama’s program as purely political. After all, if big government really disappeared from 2001 to 2009, it can’t be blamed for the economic meltdown.
But it didn’t disappear, and it can be blamed for the meltdown. The Republicans’ cynicism and lack of principle are as responsible for what’s going on as any Democrat’s — even more, because they have undermined sound economic reasoning by their hypocrisy.
