Ok, Ill try to cover all of the bases . First off I am an assistant manager. I am supposed to be guaranteed 35 hours a week, I am only getting 20 and sometimes less. Even if I am there until midnight, I still have to punch out at 10:30, to make labor. I put in about 10-15 hours extra, unpaid. How do I go about getting any monies owed to me, and is there a way to do it without getting crapped on at the store level. Im thinking of quitting because of this, Its unfair to me and my family. By Federal Law, can severe ADHD be classified as a Disability?

We live in Michigan. My son has severe ADHD, and weve had to fight the school every step of the way- first with his diagnosis, then with what types of help they can offer. I was lied to at first about them being able to help with a diagnosis. I was lied to next about him not qualifying for counsling at school if I want him to have it. Ive read in the past through many different services that ADHD students who can not ride a regular bus can be put on a special education bus. When I brought it up last year, they refused to help me. Now, my son is being threatened with being expelled from the bus for the year because the bus garage supervisor does not like him. I know he acts out, but his bus driver has said twice he would NOT be written up (my older daughter witnessed that), only to have him turn around and write him up anyway. Federal law mandates children with disabilities get access to services. Can ADHD be classified as a disability? And how?
Answer: ADHD is legally considered a disability, as are other learning disabilities. I'm dyslexic, and get extra time on exams for it, and the letter that goes out to all my professors saying I should get extra time starts off with "Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act legally obligate us to provide appropriate accommodations to minimize the impact of a qualifying disability." Granted that's for dyslexia, but it's the same deal for ADHD. Your son automatically qualifies as "disabled" just by having been formally diagnosed as having ADHD - you don't have to do anything special to have it count as a disability. The tricky part, though, is getting them to enforce it. The only way to FORCE the schools to do anything is to take them to court. And even then, if the school can argue that it's not fair to the other students to let him disrupt their class/bus ride/whatever else, so they have to separate him. Ideally they should make modifications to the environment so that he CAN function in a normal school setting without disrupting the other kids, but that requires that whoever's making the decisions be minimally competent and intelligent, or that they even care. With the public school system as it is, don't count on that. In fact, it's probably don't even worth hoping for. My mom has a friend who is a very high powered and pushy disability rights attorney, and her son has a pretty profound verbal learning disability. She fought with the school system for years, and even she couldn't get him the services he was entitled to. She eventually had to put him in a private school, which the family can't really afford. The point of all that is that while your son is absolutely entitled to services, I honestly don't think it can be done.

RH- Blood, 3 miscarriages, no success stories... Pregnant Again, Please read! PLEASE?

When I was 18 yrs old... I had my first pregnancy. Lasted 7 weeks! Was then told that I was RH- With my O- blood type. The doctor told me then, I had miscarried because My then boyfriend and I were not compatible, and I would have to get a RhoGam Shot every pregnancy! That doctor told me every 12 weeks during pregnancy I would need the Shot. Six months go by and I am pregnant again. I went to the hosp. the night I found out to get my RhoGam shot. Only that Doctor, he told me they only administer the shot at 28 weeks and right after birth. I tried explaining what the other doctor had told me. But he said, getting a shot now wouldnt happen. That pregnancy lasted 10 weeks. I was 19. When I was 20, in may 2010... I found myself pregnant again my the same man as the previous 2. I Was living in Michigan during the first 2, but the third one my then- boyfriend and I moved back home to Florida. So as soon as I looked at the positive test, I immediately got online and started finding health care numbers. I had calculated that I was about 5-5 1/2, I found one near my home... and Immediately made an appointment.... I found out about third baby on a Friday, My appointment was 10 days later... two Mondays from that Friday. I Knew about the pregnancy 1 week and 1 day before I miscarried. I miscarried the Saturday before my Monday appointment. Distraught, I knew I should have gone to the hospital to get my RhoGam shot for my next future baby. Plans collided and It didnt happen. My then- boyfriend broke up with me after 2 1/2 years together. And I am now engaged planned to be married to my Fiance on April 7th, 2012. Now that you know the story, heres the question! Knowing that I did not get the shot after my last miscarriage almost 2 yrs ago, I am fearful. I took a positive pregnancy test yesterday morning without first morning urine. Shocked, I went and bought 3 more... all Positive! I am scared to death, and find myself not being able to be happy about this great news. Considering my past, how Could I be! My fiance is unsure of his blood type, hed have to find his medical records. I calculated again, and I am only about 4-5 weeks along, as my last menstruation was Dec. 18, 2011... and the period was funny only lasted about 4 days, which isnt normal for me! But I will say I am only about 4-5 weeks. I know what that first doctor told me about the Rhogam shot, and he gave me a card to carry with me at all times saying I am O-. But with a new man, less stress, less fighting, and plans to be married... I am some what hopeful. But reliving my past is in the back of my head. And I am sorrowful that I cant be excited! I even told my fiance not to get excited about it until the 2nd trimester comes! What the question is, Mothers out there who are also RH- with an RH+ partner, Please tell me what process you first went through when you first found out about your pregnancy! What should I do? Should I go to the hospital and demand the shot? Or should I just wait till Tuesday to tell the nurse at my county health dept. all about my past, my 3 fatal pregnancies, and my concerns of this one. I need real life answers and not from some doctor who doesnt care whether your baby dies or not. All miscarriages Ive had, the docs have told me so bluntly, Yeah Miss... Your having a miscarriage, not to panic tho, theyre common! Great way to make me cry! I am 22 year old woman, My fiance is 22. And I am scared to death of the emotional, mental and physical pain that comes with losing a life youve created, yet never will meet! thanks all for reading, and helping if you can I have been on several different birth controls. And all of them almost killed me! So I do not take them for that reason, All of them I have bled and bled until I stopped taking them. So we were using condoms. I do believe that my ex and I were just incompatible. Because my ex moved back to MI.. and got one of his ex-girlfriend pregnant the first time they had sex. His baby boy is now 5 months old. Which you can bet, killed me inside to hear that! I ran to the hospital all those times, because then I did not have health insurance. I was young and dumb, and thought thats what I had to do. If I were still young and dumb, I would have ran to the hospital yesterday when I found out. I have read online yesterday on several medical sites that the administration of Rhogam can be injected as early as the 12th week, to as late as the 7th month. Answer: Ok,since I am rh- (A-), I will try to answer to all of your questions, and make things clear. First of all, I am really sorry for your losses, I have miscarried 2 times in a row, and I know how devastating this is. It is possible that these miscarriages happened due to genetical incompatiblity, but, we will never know, since you didn't do any tests after any of these miscarriages to find out what might be the cause. Second, when we talk about rh incompatiblity, it is important only, and only in case when mother is Rh- and father Rh+, and only after the first pregnancy. The thing is, when rh- woman conceives with rh+ man, her body is producing antibodies because it sees baby as foreign entity which needs to be eliminated. And even if the baby remains healthy and lives until the end of pregnancy (which is usual case), antibodies will remain in woman's body and wait for the second baby, and if the father of the second baby is again rh+ man, this baby might be in real danger (antibodies can cause severe deformities). Also, if this first baby is rh-, then there is no problem, because then antibodies are not created, and problem is moving to next pregnancy,in case second baby is rh+ (all this will be verified, because they will perform blood test to determine baby's blood type when mother is rh-, and father is rh+). If the father is rh- then the problem doesn't exist-the problem is only previous scenario. Third, and most important thing! Rhogam shot MUST be taken in course of only 72 hours after delivery of the first baby. Not sometime during second pregnancy. In course of 72 hours after delivery, being normal healthy delivery at the end of healthy pregnancy, or miscarriage, or abortion, this is irrelevant. So, now practicaly about your case.Now there is nothing that can be done regarding your previous miscarriages and the fact that you didn't take rhogam shot after neither of your miscarriages. Your partner must do blood test asap, in order to find out bloody type. If he is rh-, hooray! No reason to worry, because antibodies which were maybe created in any of your previous pregnancies, will not attack this baby-because she is also rh-(since both you and partner are rh-). However, if your partner is rh+, then you are indeed in high risk. You will probably do more ultrasounds then in usual pregnancy, to follow baby's development. If this was my pregnancy, I would do genetic counseling too, to find out other possibilities for testing which might see if there is problem with this baby's development. For example, there is Chorionic villus sampling (CVS),which is a prenatal test that detects chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome, as well as a host of other genetic disorders, and it can be done as early as 10-11 weeks of pregnancy. Anyway, good luck, and consider as many testing as possible.

Need disability for my bleeding disorder?

( If you dont want to read my lifes story skip first 2 paragraphs.) I am 18 with 2 brothers, they are 13 and 10. We have lots of nose bleeds lasting up to four hours. I have been going to the hospital since i was 8 at first they didnt know what it was. early in my life i was always sent by the teacher to the office where the bad kids to sit and wait to have a talk with the Principal. At first they thought i was a bad kid because they thought i got in a fight and had to see the Principal. Then I was known as the poor kid who bled too much, always arriving with with stack of paper towels wrapped around his nose becoming a routine daily I had lots of bloods test done and two years of countless doctors visits My brothers and I were diagnosed with von willie brands. and finally i had something to say to those teachers that thought i was a trouble maker they felt bad my record is eight hours bleeding i know sounds like i would have died, but i kept swallowing it to hide it. That was a bad idea because at the end of the day in algebra last class i puked in class with blood clots everywhere. It was very embarrassing this was 8th grade. We all have medical bracelets. Thats my lifes story me the bleeder many jokes were made but its all good cause sympathy gets you good Friends and cute girls (Start here if skipping) Our medication is Amicar and Stymate. We had our noses cauterized (A surgery to stop the nosebleed) not much help though Also we have three doctors (Our hematology/pediatrician doctor in Grand Rapids Michigan. and another specialized Hematology doctor in Grand Rapids and our family doctor in Holland, Michigan). We get Childrens Special Health Care Services (its an insurance thats pays for our medicine and doctors visits). We have another brother that doesnt have it. We live with just our mother who makes 30,000 a year thats before taxes so 1 mom and 4 boys which is low income in Michigan. So we get free lunch at school. I got a Pell Grant for College I will be going to college this fall. I need help knowing what help my family can get. Mainly Disability since I will be living on my own I will need help. Also can my brothers get disability. I had a Job for the summer but I cant do it since I get super long nosebleeds then I get dizzy and unable to work. Will I need a lawyer to get help what will I need from my doctors what can my brothers do to get their help. advice from experience is much needed. Also will getting help from the state affect my Financial Aid for school?
Answer: You can apply for disability pay; however, it will be determined by your ability to work. If you cannot work any job and it's expected to last more than one year (which it will), then you should be eligible. You are often denied at least once, sometimes more for disability. In addition, you may have to get a lawyer - which will cost money. What are you going to school for? I'm only asking because if you cannot work, then what will you do with your degree? It can affect your financial aid when you apply the following years because it will be income to you. It may or may not affect the amount that you receive - it will depend on what you receive in disability income. You will not qualify for SSDI because it requires that you work a certain number of years to receive the necessary work credits. You will be applying for SSI which does not require the work criteria and is based on financial need (and of course disability). Read up at this site: http://www.ssa.gov/disability/ which will tell you how to apply, if you're eligible, etc. Their definition of a disability is: •You cannot do work that you did before; •We decide that you cannot adjust to other work because of your medical condition(s); and •Your disability has lasted or is expected to last for at least one year or to result in death. If you applied for work study as part of your financial aid, you may be able to work one of those jobs on-campus. They are very flexible and many may involve a lot of sitting (library work, office work, answering phones, etc.) and may be feasible with your disability. Good luck to you.

I received a speeding ticket in Michigan and am unsure if points will be placed on my license. Help?

Im going to provide as much detail as possible. I was driving down an empty patch of straight road, I passed someone who was going under the speed limit and since no one was around ended up going over. By a lot. . . I slowed right back down but I was pulled over. He said I was going 68 in a 40. I said it was stupid w/e, explained that I work for a 91 year old woman and I was late. This is the first time i have ever been pulled over. He said he only needed my license. He gave me a ticket for 5 over, told me that it wouldnt go on my license and made a big deal about the favor he was giving me. I said thank you, and was on my way. My fine is $120. But Im unsure if there will be any points on my license. Everything I read says its 2 points and that its not the courts decision, anyway? Im confused and concerned! Im very upset and not sure what to do or who to call. I really dont have the energy to go to court and fight it. I did wrong, I get it, it was stupid momentary lapse in judgment. My father also insists that Ill have to lie to the court to get the points waived - and I am very strongly against this. It infuriates me but I cant afford for my insurance to go up. Does anyone have any insight on this? He said there wouldnt be anything on my license - does that even mean anything?

It still might be. But Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., is persisting in his decade-long campaign, and on Tuesday plans to conduct the first-ever U.S. Senate hearing on a bill called the Dream Act. Among witnesses scheduled to testify on behalf of the Dream Act are Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Clifford Stanley, the Pentagon Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness. Durbin secured an especially large hearing room with some 200 student supporters expected. "These are young people who have that kind of exciting look in their eyes that they want to be part of the world," Durbin said on the Senate floor last week. "But they cant make that first move toward the life that they want to live because they are undocumented," he said. Durbins bill would give children of illegal aliens the opportunity to gain citizenship if they had graduated from high school and either joined the military or completed two years of college. They would need to be 16 and have demonstrated "good moral character" to qualify. Durbin, whose mother was a Lithuanian immigrant, makes regular trips to the Senate floor to recount stories of young immigrants facing obstacles because of their heritage. Among those scheduled to testify Tuesday is the daughter of Albanian immigrants who was valedectorian of her high school class in Michigan and has been fighting off deportation. Durbins proposal has proved controversial at every turn, with opponents arguing that it would amount to mass amnesty for lawbreakers and give public assistance to non-Americans. Can ADHD be classified a disability by Federal or State Law?

We live in Michigan. My son has severe ADHD, and weve had to fight the school every step of the way- first with his diagnosis, then with what types of help they can offer. I was lied to at first about them being able to help with a diagnosis. I was lied to next about him not qualifying for counsling at school if I want him to have it. Ive read in the past through many different services that ADHD students who can not ride a regular bus can be put on a special education bus. When I brought it up last year, they refused to help me. Now, my son is being threatened with being expelled from the bus for the year because the bus garage supervisor does not like him. I know he acts out, but his bus driver has said twice he would NOT be written up (my older daughter witnessed that), only to have him turn around and write him up anyway. Federal law mandates children with disabilities get access to services. Can ADHD be classified as a disability? And how? Jolene- can you ask her how she got it classified? Im not interested in getting a check (though, hey, that would be nice), but without a classification, they refuse to put him on a supervised bus with seat belts. Because of that, he gets into more trouble than he would with the added people watching him, and the benefit of having to sit in a seat belt. It just ticks me off that theyre more than willing to kick a 7 year old off the bus for the year, than they are to help us get him on the right bus. For starters, I know my son has ADHD. This is not something his school told me. Its something weve known since he was a toddler, and finally got professionally evaluated and diagnosed only after it was affecting his school severly. He IS on medication, and closely watched. He is not a "bad kid", and we are NOT bad parents. We also do not lie to him. Where exactly did my post say anywhere that we lie to our child? Im not looking for judgement. I understand that about half the kids diagnosed with ADHD do NOT have it. Chris, however, is not one of them. In fact, were looking at getting another evaluation done, because his doctors (yes, plural), and I feel that he might also be bipolar in addition to the ADHD. I do know that in some kids have been put on disability based JUST on the ADHD. I also know that being disabled is NOT just described as not being able to breath, walk, or talk. What I am looking for is an answer from people who actually know from experiance.
Answer: I should remember this from school, but I know there are special provisions for ADHD. Ask about a Section 504 plan. (Or it could be 405, I'm numerically dislexic, so my memory is bad). They are able to get services and should by law. So, keep fighting! Ask the State Board of education if you need to.

Will someone give me some relationship advice?

So me and this girl dated for 2 years long distance. I live in Michigan and she lives in Florida. Im 18 and shes 21. We would visit each other for a week or 2 at a time every couple months and I was planning to move down there and continue college in July of 2010. I was her first love and she was mine. We would always talk about the future together and it was a solid relationship. We never fought over anything dumb and whenever we saw eachother it was great. At the time she didnt have a job and just went to college down there. I have a job up here and went to school. I visited her in April and things were great. We were picking out apartments together and getting excited for the move. She lives with her parents right now and I was going to go down and stay with them for a month until we got all settled in a place. After I visited I came home and talked about it with my parents some more. I was 100% ready until my dad had opened up my eyes to all the things her and I would have to worry about. He said I could probably do it but he said itd be best to wait until December or next summer and save up some more money. I thought about it and it seemed best because all wed do if I moved was fight because we would barely be making it. We wouldnt have any free time for ourselves and itd be really stressful since she had no money saved up and I only had 800 to my name. So I called her and explained. She said it sucked but she understood. Things were okay for a few days but I could tell she was upset and I understood that. We started fighting all of a sudden. She became really stressed out because her dad went to the hospital and on top of that she had job interviews and college finals to study for. As a result of her stress and myself wanting to talk to her and be there for her... we started fighting. She asked me for my space but I continued to fight with her (I know that was bad on my part) because I was scared and I wanted to be there. So then one day she called me up and said she wanted to break up. She said "I really wanted this to work and I know you did too but I knew the second that you called me about not moving that it wouldnt work out because we would not be able to see eachother at all and all wed do is fight. I have a job now and so do you and both of us are going to college. Itll be too hard. I really do love you and I really do want you in my life. I just want to be friends though and I want you to enjoy college and tell me everything about your life and just have fun and move on. If we have a chance to make this work in the future ill be all for it but right now it wont. Explain to your parents what ive said so that in case we do get back together they dont hate me." So I was fine and things were okay for awhile but im younger than her and had a harder time. Shes strong and can easily hide her emotions. I understood how itd be better for us to back off and be friends for awhile and avoid stress and then see how things played out but I just couldnt make the transition to friendship. I kept bringing up ways for us to get together. At first I could tell she was getting frustrated. Shed be like "Elyse, you and I both know it wont work out right now. Maybe in the future but not right now. Please just act like my friend." I did this about 3 or 4 times. I just wanted it to work so bad. I know I made a mistake. Finally she got really upset. For 2 weeks after that it was okay until I posted a facebook status. It was "a house is not a home when the two of us are far apart and one of us has a broken heart" because I was listening to the song. I wasnt expecting her to read into my facebook status. Of course, she texted me all mad asking if my status was about her. Then we fought. She called me pathetic and said that I was disappointing her because I couldnt be her friend and that she didnt want to have to come on facebook and read that stuff. I told her that if it bothered her that much to delete me from my friends. She did and told me that we wouldnt talk for awhile until I could handle just being her friend. My mom told me she probably was getting so upset because she still had feelings and it was overwhelming because she knew it wouldnt work. But at this point I was really ready to relax and be her friend. So a week later I texted her explaining myself and telling her I finally got it and I wanted to start over. She replied with " I cant believe you had the balls to text me after one week. I cant believe that youll actually be my friend this time because every other time youve let me down. I cant do this anymore and neither can you." And she never responded to anything I had said afterwards. I didnt talk to her for 3 weeks... then I sent her a friend request on facebook. She ignored it. It has now been over a month sinc
Answer: I know your dad meant well, but when he "opened your eyes" to the "hardships" you two would face as a couple living together he really sabotaged your relationship with this woman you love. Worse, you didn't give her the respect of discussing your worries and concerns with her you simply informed her of your decision. That is not the healthy way in which to handle a relationship. By the way, I think your view of her level of maturity is a bit skewed. From what you wrote here she does not sound at all "strong". Hiding emotions is not the same thing as working out emotions. In fact, it is far healthier to have a discussion of relationship issues, large or small, then to stuff those feelings, emotions, and experiences. How do you know you two would have done nothing but fight? You cannot see the future, you can only live in the present. Without actually giving it a try you could not possibly know how it would have worked out between the two of you and now you probably never will. So what if the worst happened and you two did fight constantly and discovered you both were not ready after all for a live-in situation. It would have been a growth experience for the both of you and you both would have known you had tried. This young woman obviously was hurt you made such a drastic change to long term plans without first discussing it with her. She wasn't given the opportunity to make the decision with you, you simply informed her after the fact. That was not fair and it obviously hurt and angered her. However, her behavior displays a level of unreality too by demanding you transform a long term romantic relationship into a friendship before you had a chance to heal. It takes time to heal from long term relationships. While it is mature to attempt to maintain a friendship, both parties must give each other space to heal before attempting the conversion. I am sorry this did not work out. Take it as a learning experience. As long as we learn from our life expereiences they are never mistakes. They hurt but eventually the hurt will go away as we heal. I need Friendship help? Im confused on what to do! Can anyone give me some advice?

Ok so my friend Makaelah and I have been BFF’s since we were just months old. We leave 3 hours away from each other. She lives in Indiana and I live in Michigan. Most of my family lives in Indiana. I consider her family. About 9 months ago, I took a picture of her that she didn’t like, and I thought she looked fine. She told me over and over to delete it but I kept saying no. So she decided to handle the situation physically. She started to try to grab my phone to delete the picture. She would push me, and at points shed even pin me down. At first I thought it was funny. But then Makaelah started choking me. Her sister Kassi was watching us, and calling for their mom the whole time. Just as Makaelah was choking me, her mom walked in. Makaelah released me and started telling her mom what happened and was trying to make me look bad. So her mom made me delete the picture, which I didn’t. But I was leaving for Michigan that day, so my dad picked me up, and her mom told my dad about the fight. He tried to ask me questions but I wouldn’t answer any of them. About an hour and a half into the drive she text me and apologized. I was hurt to deep, so I text her back and just told her to leave me alone. She kept texting me apologizing over and over, and told me what I did. But I didn’t reply to them because I was too hurt and surprised. I never thought she would do that to me. A few days later we made up. But I never let the fight go. It put a dent in our friendship that hurt me too much to just forget. Then just last month, we went skiing with my cousins. They took me on a Medium hill, which I wasn’t ready for. I had this big fall, and was pretty rattled by it. They all tried to get me to go on a different and longer bunny hill, than the one I was starting out on. I told them I was too scared and wasn’t ready. But Makaelah just kept pushing me to do it. Then I said…Makaelah, if your going to try to push me to go on that hill every time we go skiing, I wont come next time…And she was like…Fine. It already feels like your not here anyway…and she left. That really hurt me, but I didn’t say anything. It just made me want to cry. But my cousin Emily, and Makaelah’s sister Kassi didn’t say anything like that. They respected my choice. So we got home, and I went into the bathroom to change. While I was in there, she went into my phone and deleted all my pictures of her. So I got mad and took another of her. Same thing…she told me to delete it, I said no. She called her mom over, her mom looked at the picture and said I could keep it. I gave her one of those “Ha Ha I won” looks. She kicked me in the ankle, and I kicked her back. So we started kicking and punching each other. We stopped, and I went to text her cousin, and she tried to read what I was typing. I told her that my conversation between her cousin and I was none of her business. She kept saying that it was her cousin, and that cousin beats best friend. So she grabbed my phone, and I grabbed hold of it. We tugged for a while, then she let go. A small piece of my phone snapped out of place. I pushed her, and successfully fixed it. But every now and then, I try to talk to her about these fights that hurt me too much, and am having a hard time letting them go. But she just says those small words like…oh, yeah, whatever, that’s your opinion, and even…you haven’t moved past that?. It makes me want to scream…Makaelah, don’t you see that I have a problem and need your help to get past it…She’s not the kind of person to let her feeling out, and I’m trying to accept that. But it doesn’t take feelings to fix these problems. She doesn’t understand that I haven’t moved past it, and I need her help! Another thing is that she has two sides. There’s the wild, crazy, and funny person that makes me laugh, then there’s this boring person who acts as if she doesn’t care. She never insults me or anything. But she’s not very supporting when something good or bad happens to me, but I’m very supportive whenever something good or bad happens to her. She’s really great about the whole forgiveness thing, and I’ve forgiven her for all those things that we fought over, I just haven’t gotten over them. I don’t want to dump her as a friend. But I’m afraid to tell her how I feel because I think she’ll get mad or angry! When I tell her something that I said that I know hurts her, she forgives me right away. But when she’s saying sorry about something she did, it doesn’t seem like anything. It seems like she’s just saying it to end the fight. I don’t wanna dump her as a friend. But also when I try to talk to her about these things, she replies like it my fault. I feel like our friendship is in total complete CRISIS! What should I do?

Okay first of all, yes i am a true blue michigan fan. i went to that App.State game. Yes, we did get beat by a 1-AA school. In all honesty, that is just what michigan needed. Its a wake up call to get our heads back in the game. A true team would take this loss, and make some good out of it. All you fairweatherd Michigan fans who hop off the banwagon because they lost, should just shut up and move on with your lifes. All you teams bashing michigan, have nothing better to do. You have waited your whole lives to have something to say about michigan- and here you go. We will hear about this loss for quite a while but atleast we are a true team. The game had bad coaching, and the players werent in the game. I can assure you that we will defeat Oregon, and all you little pussy teams that are coming our way because we are a real teams and real teams dont give up because of a loss. We keep going, we keep fighting, we keep kicking ass. How many teams can say that? Go blue!!!!!!!!!!!! yea yea put it how you want.
Answer: First, you can not say you will KEEP kicking a** as you are the ones who got your a** kicked. Second even if you win all of your games the rest of the year you have no shot at the national title. If there are not two undefeated teams it will come down to the one loss teams. A loss to a 1-AA team puts you at the bottom of that pile. third, you are not a real team if you have bad coaching and players who can't get up for the first game of the year. That means you are an overhyped bunch of babies who deserve to fall out of the top 25. Fourth, if you think a pathetic loss in the first game of the year is just what your team needed then you don't understand football that well. You think it’s easy being an African American man? You think we still have equal rights? We don’t. But I’m not mad. Because by becoming mad doesn’t help. Instead, I grow wiser. I work harder. I fight harder. I’m not going to allow racism to enter my mind. I know it’s there, poking its head behind ever corner. It won’t defeat me. It doesn’t have my permission. I can achieve anything I set my mind to in this life. It’s my life. I was given this gift called life and I’m going to live it responsibly, honestly and with vigor. I’m going to always remain strong, never quit with my ambitions.
Answer: What you need here is subtext. Subtext is the part the character is saying in his mind to either begin or complete the spoken line. It's the underlying meaning of the line and can be completely different from the words actually spoken aloud. Take the following example, where I've added the subtext in brackets: I've come far in life (and I'm proud of it!) If you read the line along with the subtext also spoken aloud, it has a certain shade of meaning. Now if you read the line aloud again but say the subtext only in your mind, it retains that shade of meaning! That is the power of subtext. It helps you bring out the shade of meaning of the line and thus remain in character throughout the piece. Note how the shade of meaning changes when you change the subtext: (Maybe I don't deserve to but) I've come far in life. The line immediately becomes slightly defensive, even apologetic. When you work out the subtext of every line and read the lines that way, you affix the character's emotions to the lines and you remain true to the role throughout the piece. Preferably, don't think of Martin Luther King Jr. or Malcolm X saying the piece. Think of yourself saying the piece and bringing out the nuances of the lines. All the best, I'm sure you'll nail the piece.

Answer: Practice Practice Practice. You already have done the hardest part which is determining how your going to deliver the monologue. It's a great idea to study King and Malcom's speeches studying there gestures and how they change the tone of their voice to emphasize their words and using it as inspiration will make for a great delivery. Memorize your piece, practice in front of a mirror and watch yourself. Then perform in front of your friends before you perform the big one.

Do you think this is a decent college admission essay?

Unexpected things happen in life, some incidents are exciting experiences while others are not as pleasant. Either way, the lesson that you take away from it is what is most important. The first time I moved would have to be the moment in my life where my eyes were opened the most and the experience that has affected me in a profound way. Originally, I am from Michigan or rather Lower Michigan. Four is the number of times I have moved, five is the number of school systems I’ve attended in, and the number three stands for the states I’ve lived in. Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida are all places I have called home. The first move was from Lower Michigan to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and that’s when I saw everything in a new perspective. My first school was a religious private school, there was very sheltered from the rest of the world. My early years I didn’t know there was anything different from what I learned in school; everything was just black or white nothing in the middle. It was a place that I never truly felt like I belonged among them because I have always marched to my own drum. When school started and it was my first day at my new school, I remembered feeling the purest form of dread. Even with the fingers of nervousness bring its snarling fangs around me I made it through day one well enough. Day by day the butterflies in my stomach went away not only that but I began to realize that my whole life up to that point had been spent in a bubble. I have always been interested in learning about everything around me and finding out that there was so much more outside of that dome I had always been in intrigued me. It surprised me even how much I didn’t know about the world like other religions, even the choice of not believing in religion, divorce, adoption, things in science that I was never really taught (i.e. Evolution), and that the world wasn’t that happy little reverie I had always thought it was. In short I didn’t know that there was diversity in the world and once I got a taste of it I knew I was never letting go. Fourth grade is when this all happened to me and I really count this as a memorable moment in my life that helped shaped me as a person. It is not enough anymore just to be book smart; you also need to know how to function in the real world and real world situations. For me I first needed to learn what the real world was my first move popped that bubble I was in and set me free. Even though the first time moving I consider that to be the most imprinting event to who I am now, it was not the last time I moved. Moving a lot has made me learn that things can be unexpected but that’s what makes life diverse and interesting; things always change from bad to good in the end. I have also learned that I am stronger than I thought I was because I am able to handle random challenging situations not just because I have read about them, but because I have lived through them. I have goals and I will reach them, even if I have to claw and fight my way through the journey to reach them. I am confident that by admitting me to _______________ I will add a fighter attitude, point of view, and diversity to the student body. its very rough i know, i just need to know if im heading in the right direction with it
